History
Although they were in the same house and year (Gryffindor, 1994 - 2001), during their years at Hogwarts, Geoffrey Hooper and Natalie MacDonald didn't really spend much time together. Natalie was the only child of a union between a wizard father and a muggle mother that ended in divorce when she was two. After being shuffled between the houses for three years, Natalie started showing signs of magic at age five. Her mother couldn't handle or control her daughter's magic, so Natalie moved in with her father, a barrister, permanently, though she could visit her mother occasionally. When her mother remarried when Natalie was seven — to a muggle man — the visits stopped because her mother's new family didn't know about Natalie and her father being "different." By the time she entered Hogwarts at the age of eleven, she was a quiet young girl who mostly kept to herself. To help "cope" with the divorce and essentially losing her mother, her father gave her crayons, colouring books, paints, and more. After years of drawing, painting, and colouring, Natalie proved to be something of a child prodigy, a gifted artist. Her years at Hogwarts were fairly nondescript. She was too young to really understand most of what was going on, and her father was "pure enough" that in her fourth year, when muggleborns were being persecuted, she was safe from all of that, though she drew into herself more than ever before when facing a hostile school environment. After Hogwarts, she took up residence in London with long-time friend Romilda Vane (who had taken the younger girl under her wing at Hogwarts and they became friends despite, or perhaps because of, their differences) and focused more on her art, holding down part-time waitressing jobs to help pay the rent.
Contrastly, Geoffrey grew up in a stable wizarding household, where Quidditch matches were often broadcast on the WWN. He became fascinated with Quidditch, though unlike his older siblings (he was the youngest of four), he showed no aptitude for it. That didn't stop him from trying out for Keeper of the Gryffindor team as a second year in 1995, though. However, he didn't make it, and he whined a little (as the youngest, he had been spoiled by his parents and was used to getting what he wanted), but still didn't make the team. He still loved Quidditch anyway and attended all the matches during his time at Hogwarts. Like Natalie, he was "pure enough" to be safe from persecution in his fifth year, but he chose to try to ignore the war by instead focusing on Quidditch. After Hogwarts, he too ended up in London, working for the Ministry of Magic in the Department of Magical Games and Sports. He was dining in a restaurant that Natalie was waitressing at one evening when they met again and sparks flew. They began dating and, in late 2004, were married.
Misty was their first child, born in June of 2006. Son Tristan followed a couple years later. As the older sister, Misty grew up to be a bit bossy. Mostly with her younger brother, but she could be bossy with her friends, as well. Her best friend was the daughter of her mum's best friend: Constance Harper. Connie and Misty were at first practically forced upon each other in their diaper days by their mums, but then they were happy to play together as they grew older. Taking after her mum, who was incredibly creative but also incredibly perfectionistic about her art, Misty became not only a bit of a perfectionist, but also a very creative individual, but not with drawing or painting. At the age of seven, she picked up a guitar and has rarely put it down since.
Three events have truly shaped Misty's life. The first is her friendship with Connie. Every little girl needs a best friend, and Misty and Connie were quite perfect to fill that role for each other. They were similar but not too alike. They could fight but then they'd still be friends anyway. The second was the guitar, it has shaped who Misty is now and who she wants to be. The third one happened when she was fifteen. Her parents decided to take Misty and Tristan to the United States, and while there, Misty fell in love with American muggle classic rock and roll music (and when she got home, she looked into British classic rock and roll music and fell in love with that, too). She also discovered at this time that she loved traveling and really wanted to do more of it.
Hogwarts has been both unexceptional and exceptional for Misty. She strove for good grades because she was too much of a perfectionist to settle for anything less, and she was made a prefect in her fifth year (just like Connie was — though the girls were sad to have been sorted into different houses, they still spent a lot of time together anyway). But other than that, Misty's years at Hogwarts were relatively unexceptional. She was often found around the Hufflepuff common room, playing her guitar (when she wasn't studying or spending time with Connie, that is).
Personality
Misty is wonderful at multitasking. In fact, she generally can't stand doing just one thing at any given time. At the very least, she always has music running through her head. Songs she's heard, songs she's just writing in her head, nonsense that's just music, anything as long as it's music. Without this background music in her head, she can't concentrate on anything else, not studying or talking to friends or anything. Sometimes, when there's a lull in external thoughts, she'll start humming along to the music in her head. Although she isn't quite a prodigy like her mother was, she is quite skilled at the guitar and can often pick out a song on her guitar after only hearing it once or twice, mostly because once she hears it, it's added to her mental soundtrack and she can pull it up and listen to it again in her head, then start playing it.
Misty is also very bossy. She mostly bosses her younger brother around, and the younger years, but she's been known to get carried away and start bossing her friends around, too. She's very much a leader and not so much a follower, taking the leader position in any group projects. Some might question why she ended up in Hufflepuff, since she's an obvious leader and spends so much time studying, but she'll just argue that there's nothing that says Hufflepuffs can't be leaders and can't study. Her Hufflepuff-ness really shows, however, in her extreme loyalty. To her friends, her family, her house (not necessarily in that order). Although she might boss Tristan around, nobody else is allowed to. She might call Connie the BigHead Girl, but nobody else can.
