History
The story of how Arthur Nolan and Caroline Prewett met isn't exactly a fairy tale, or even much of a story. Arthur was beginning his residency at the Albany Medical Center, and he ran into Caroline at a coffee shop nearby, while she was on her way to class (she was in her senior year at SUNY: Albany, majoring in history with a minor in Egyptian archaeology). Actually, they didn't really so much as run into each other as they were waiting in line together, with Caroline in front of Arthur. They exchanged a few pleasantries, then went their separate ways. They ran into each other in similar ways a few more times over the next few weeks, then Arthur finally asked Caroline out. There were no real fireworks or anything, there was definitely love brewing between them.
After two years of dating, Arthur and Caroline married. Their first few years of marriage were a bit rocky, with Caroline working to get her Ph.D. and also working at the museum, while Arthur was working different hours every week at the hospital. Just when they were starting to question whether love could keep them together, they found out that they were pregnant. Within a year of each other, Caroline and both of her sisters all had daughters. Caroline and Arthur named their's, the youngest of the three, Jennifer Elizabeth. Although a baby isn't exactly the best solution for a floundering marriage, little baby Jenny did seem to help keep her parents together. They began to work harder to synchronize their schedules so that they could spend more time together and with each other and their daughter.
Growing up, Jenny was doted upon by her father and treated like the little princess that she began to believe herself to be. She loved it when attention was given to her, she positively soaked it up. When most other kids liked playing outside and getting dirty and scraping their knees, Jenny liked playing indoor games, house and make-believe and dolls and the like. As she reached puberty, she began playing with her mother's makeup and she started noticing the boys at school. Her first boyfriend was when she was in the eighth grade. He broke her heart after three weeks of dating, and her cousin Jessie, the oldest of the three female cousins born in the same year, broke his nose. The heartbreak (and … subsequent nose-break) taught Jenny nothing, and thus began her seemingly never-ending trail of boyfriends, each one breaking her heart anew.
Although both of her parents try to push Jenny to do her best academically, she prefers to float along in school, taking the easiest classes possible and only doing the minimum to maintain good grades, except in fun classes that don't really involve thinking. Career-wise, there isn't anything that Jenny really wants to do; mostly she's just hoping to marry someone rich who loves and adores her, so that she never has to work in her life.
