The second oldest of the four Gudgeon children, Davy Gudgeon was also the biggest daredevil of them all. He and older brother Devon were the Beaters on the Hufflepuff Quidditch team, and Davy always seemed to have a death wish, as he made a point of irritating Slytherins. In his second year, he got beat up by a gang of them for protecting a first year Hufflepuff from them. This started a close friendship between him and the first year, Ji-Eun Kang. When she was a fourth year and he a fifth year, their friendship became something more when he realized that he would be lost without her after she got seriously injured in the Hogsmeade attack. They began dating shortly thereafter and attended the Yule Ball together. When Ji-Eun found out that her best friend, Cassidy Abercrombie was dating Regulus Black, she accidentally spilled the secret to Davy when under the influence of a truth serum. As a result, Davy was ejected from the next Hufflepuff Quidditch match (and given enough detentions that surely even his future progeny would be serving them) when he directed a bludger into the stands, aimed at the boy who had not only been picking on his halfblood girlfriend but was also, Davy was sure, leading on Ji-Eun's muggleborn best friend.
